Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to announce Mari OTA's solo exhibition for the first time in 14 years. In 2006, Ota's solo exhibition of large drawings and her everyday performance in our gallery was highly acclaimed. Ota lived and worked in Germany and Poland from 2012 to 2016. In this exhibition, approximately 30 watercolors Ota painted after 2016 will be exhibited. Using only a little colors, her paintings seem like scenes in movies and make us imagine stories behind them. In addition, an installation work "piano loop" using a 4m long drawing will be exhibited in our basement gallery (October 27 - November 6) and Ota will have performance on an irregular base.
