Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to present rare drawings by YOSHINAKA Taizo (1928-1985) drawn with rough but passionate power when he was 24 years old. Yoshinaka was born in Kyoto and started his career as a painter in his early years. In 1952, he moved to Tokyo and came into contact with members of the avant-garde movement such as OKAMOTO Taro and IKEDA Tatsuo. A major example of Yoshinaka's work is abstract collage started in the 1960s, using newspaper, buttons, razors, and other materials. In his later years, Yoshinaka shifted to simple white paintings by eliminating elements he used to use in his works.
