Galerie Tokyo Humanité is currently holding IKEDA Tatsuo's solo exhibition entitled Box Cosmos. Included in this exhibition are over 20 pieces of boxed art created after the late 1980s. Having been recognized as the avant-garde artist since the 1950s, Ikeda (b. 1928) is a leading figure of contemporary art in the postwar Japan. Started from Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art in 2010, Ikeda's large-scale retrospective traveled to 4 museums in Japan including Taro Okamoto Museum of Art, Kawasaki. Following the retrospective, his artworks were exhibited in Tokyo 1955-1970: A New Avant-Garde in MoMA in New York in 2012.
