From the very large scaled folding screens to a small copper plate engraving, Iijima’s art works are consistently filled with the fulfilment that painting and looking are in close cooperation. As the visual recognition and the bodily movement call out to each other instantly Iijima develops the images that are delivered on to the screens, and she does not fix them there but brings them up to life that comes and goes in between abstract and representational without effort. For her, painting goes far beyond her expressional satisfaction. It is a forever continuing journey- through what she meets in her artistic experiences - towards her quests for the world’s unknown regions, far away depth and infinite time and space. http://galleryk.la.coocan.jpInformation Provided by: Gallery K Period: April 16,2018 (Mon) 〜 April 21,2018 (Sat) |
