The Uffizi Gallery, famous as a treasure house of Italian Renaissance painting, houses a collection of over 1,700 portraits. Many of these are stored in the Vasari Corridor, a secret passageway bearing the name of its architect. In this exhibition, we present a select group of about 70 works from the collection that have never been shown publicly including those by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, James Ensor, Giorgio de Chirico, Marc Chagall, and Robert Rauschenberg. * The text provided by The National Museum of Art, Osaka.
