A choice selection of Western-style paintings including Enoshima by TAKAHASHI Yuichi, which the museum has been collecting ever since its opening, are presented in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the opening of our museum in Kamakura. Part 1 (April 9-July 10) features a group of works by KISHIDA Ryusei, the leading artist of the Taisho and Showa periods. Young Girl (Reiko Standing) is a masterpiece portraying the artist’s beloved daughter. Natural Girl (on deposit) is an ambitious work blending the aesthetic senses of the Orient and the West. Part 2 (July 12- October 10) focuses on Standing Figure by MATSUMOTO Shunsuke, an artist who pursued humanism during the war, and representative works of the same period such as Woman by ASO Saburo. * The text provided by The Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura.
